Megan Jones Serves as BCM/D’s Communications Director

COLUMBIA, Md. — Megan Jones joined the Baptist Convention of Maryland/Delaware (BCM/D) staff as the communications director, effective June 1. She oversees the day-to-day communication ministry including public relations, social media, video, BaptistLIFE, and working with the communications team to provide education about the BCM/D and to promote the Cooperative Program.

Jones grew up in a Christian home and attended a non-denominal church in Joppa and made a profession of faith when she was four years old at a Christian school. She and her husband Jay, who pastors Freedom Church Windsor Mill, met at Christian Life Center in Bel Air and they married in 2010.

Megan has served in administrative roles in all of the churches she and Jay have attended, in both paid and volunteer capacities, and currently leads the finance and media teams at Freedom Church. In addition, she’s held project management and administration positions in secular organizations. She has an associate’s degree in business management from Harford Community College.

Megan and Jay have four children, Kalib, Jael, Devyn, and Chaise. Asked about hobbies, Megan said there’s not a lot of leisure time between church, work, and taking care of the home, but she, Jay, and the kids enjoy amusement parks and just spending time together. Jay enjoys cooking, and Megan said she enjoys the fruits of his labor, especially Mexican food. “I could eat tacos every day,” she said.

Megan is gifted in administration and is available to help churches with organization and structuring the small details that she says “contribute to achieving something big!”
