Executive Team

Tom Stolle
Executive Director/Chief Financial Officer
Tom serves as the BCM/D’s executive director and chief financial officer. A licensed CPA in the state of Maryland, Tom directs, supervises, and coordinates the finance, accounting, and budgeting operations of the BCM/D. He also serves the staff as human resource director and manages corporate insurance coverage. Tom leads the Baptist Foundation of Maryland/Delaware as director, also serving as treasurer, managing its church loan program.
He has a passion for the church and routinely provides various types of training to local churches about ministers’ taxes, budgeting, establishing effective internal financial controls, and various other financial issues.
Tom and his wife, Shelley, have three sons, JT, Jake, and Jimmy. Jimmy is a young man with autism. This journey has sparked a passion within Tom to assist our churches in the area of effective special needs ministry, serving as the BCM/D special needs ministry director.
In his spare time, Tom enjoys watching sports, especially pro football, college football, and pro basketball. Tom is a cycling enthusiast and enjoys both outdoor riding and indoor spinning. He also enjoys participating in events that raise awareness for special needs causes. And every once in a while, he will fire up his Xbox and take a little time to himself to play a video game!
Tom is available to consult with pastors and church leaders regarding finances, investing, and stewardship.

Dominic Henry
Media Specialist
Dominic Henry serves as the Baptist Convention of Maryland/Delaware videographer and video editor. He also assists with photography, and he oversees audio podcasts.
Henry worked as a contractor with the BCM/D for almost a year before transitioning full-time in June 2022. He additionally serves Severn Covenant Church in Davidsonville with photography, streaming, and recording.
A Lanham resident, Dominic enjoys traveling the east coast and studying its history. One of his hobbies is restoring and modifying his 1997 Subaru Impreza, an ever-growing passion project. He also loves interacting with the Maryland car community and frequents car shows for photo ops in his spare time.
Henry desires to put his years of church media and general editing experience to work to support the BCM/D's mission of assisting in starting and strengthening churches. He is willing to help pastors and church leaders with questions regarding media.

Somer Phoebus
Ministers Wives Consultant
Somer Phoebus serves as Baptist Convention of Maryland/Delaware ministers’ wives consultant, providing opportunities to strengthen fellowship among ministers’ wives and to encourage and resource them. “My entire goal in partnering with the BCM/D is to strengthen our churches and stir women up to good works,” Phoebus said.
She is passionate about discipleship in the local church and helping women step boldly into their God-given gifts and callings. Phoebus co-foundedShe Works His Way, a non-profit discipleship community for working women. She has spent more than a decade coaching and consulting female business owners and ministry teams, and she is the co-author of “She Works His Way: A Practical Guide for Doing What Matters Most in a Get Things Done World.”
Somer is married to Kent Phoebus, a pastor at >South Shore churchin Annapolis. They have two daughters, Kennedi and Ava. Her favorite place to be is on the water or in the city, and if you bookend either of those days with good coffee and great tacos, she’s very happy.
She is available to meet with pastor’s wives, women’s ministry leaders (whether or not you have that title but feel called to love and lead women in your church), or any female who feels called to do more for the glory of God and the good of others

Mark Dooley
Associate Executive Director/State Director of Evangelism
Mark Dooley assumed the role of state director of evangelism (SDOE) in 2019 as well as serves as our associate executive director. In addition to encouraging evangelistic fruitfulness among more the convention’s congregations as the SDOE, he also leads the efforts of BCM/D’s church services team, helping to serve the churches with training, transitions, resourcing, and many other services.
Dooley was born in Virginia, grew up in West Virginia, and migrated to Florida in High School, where he developed a passion for golf. He was a collegiate golfer and still loves to sneak in a round or two when able, searching for elusive birdies, but settling more regularly for bogeys.
He is a graduate of Erskine College in SC (where he captained his collegiate golf team for 3 years), as well as Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, earning a Master of Divinity. He and his wife of 36 years, Karen, have four adult children and four grandchildren.
Dooley brings over 38 years of ministerial and pastoral experience to the position. During his 12 years as pastor of Leonardtown Baptist Church, he served on the BCM/D General Mission Board (GMB) and is a past GMB president. He has also served on the Southern Baptist Convention committee on nominations as well as the committee on committees, and, more locally, he has served on several committees with the Potomac Baptist Association.

Ellen Udovich
Church & Community Partnerships Consultant
Prior to joining the BCM/D staff team, Ellen served for ten years with the Baltimore Baptist Association as Director of Community Ministries. She has also served with several churches as a volunteer or staff member focusing on youth and children’s ministry, ministry evangelism, volunteers and mission teams. She holds degrees in Master of Divinity and Master of Church Social Work from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Ellen is a Maryland native and was baptized into the congregation of First Baptist Church of Princess Anne. She met her future husband, Charlie, at a volleyball game while she was serving as a seminary intern at the Mallory Baptist Center in Baltimore. They’ve lived in Baltimore for over 35 years and enjoy exploring city neighborhoods and hiking trails across the region.
Ellen is available to meet with pastors and church leaders to discuss ways your church can be “on mission” in your community, develop or strengthen existing ministries, and prepare to respond effectively when disaster strikes.

Megan Jones
Communications Director/Executive Office Coordinator
Megan Jones serves as the Baptist Convention of Maryland/Delaware communications director and executive office coordinator. In addition to overseeing day-to-day communication operations, she assists the executive team in administrative functions.
Megan grew up in a Christian home and made a profession of faith when she was four years old at a Christian school. She and her husband Jay, who pastors Freedom Church Windsor Mill, met at Christian Life Center in Bel Air and married in 2010.
Megan has served in administrative roles in all of the churches she and Jay have attended, in both paid and volunteer capacities, and currently leads the finance and media teams at Freedom Church. In addition, she's held project management and administration positions in secular organizations. She has an associate's degree in business management from Harford Community College.
Megan and Jay have four children, Kalib, Jael, Devyn, and Chaise. In her spare time, she, Jay, and the kids enjoy amusement parks, cooking, and simply spending time together.

Margot Painter
Finance Office Coordinator/Facilities Manager/IT Coordinator
Margot joined The Baptist Convention of MD/DE in 2011 as the Finance Office Coordinator. Since that time, she has also worked in the Church Planting Department, and is the IT Coordinator and the Facilities Manager. Recently, Margot went back to the Finance Office in addition to her responsibilities as the IT Coordinator and Facilities Manager. Margot has also worked with Tom Stolle with our Special Needs Initiative.
Before joining BCMD, Margot was a private school teacher in Montgomery County for 25 years. During that time, she taught Preschool and other Early Childhood grade levels. In addition to classroom teaching, Margot did admissions testing and worked with the Gesell Developmental Assessment to ensure that all students were progressing at an appropriate level.
Working with Tom Stolle in the area of disability ministries was a natural fit with her teaching and developmental experience. Margot has been the Camp Director for Every Child Belongs, our special needs summer camp. In addition, she has coordinated Night to Shine, a Special Need Prom, for many years at her church, Cresthill Church.
Margot is a native New Yorker, hailing from Babylon Village, which is on the south shore of Long Island. Margot is from a large extended family which led to many happy times with family. Her love of the beach comes from growing up with the beach and the bay all around them.
She and Jimmy, her husband, live in Bowie, where he is the Senior Pastor at Cresthill Church. They have two grown daughters, Shannon, and Delaney.
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, and going to the beach. She also enjoys walking and has completed several 5k races.

Adron Dozat
Facilities Support Specialist
Adron Dozat is the Baptist Convention of Maryland/Delaware facilities support services specialist. Adron oversees the mailroom, purchases supplies, processes printing material, general building maintenance, and provides support in whatever is needed.
He was born in Albany, Calif., and grew up in the San Francisco East Bay Region. He moved to Maryland in 1998.
Adron has 50 years of broad work experience, which includes customer call centers, warehousing, outside sales, custodial, retail, carpet cleaning, and electronic assembly. These experiences make him uniquely qualified to handle any task.
Adron committed his life to Jesus while in high school. Since that time, his servant attitude defines all that he does. He has served the Lord with an openness that makes him welcome any opportunity. He has pulled weeds in the church garden, served as a deacon, participated in door-to-door evangelism, and taught Sunday school and Awana. He was a regular speaker at the Open Door Mission in Oakland, CA, where he served on the board.
In his free time, he enjoys painting and drawing using various mediums.
Adron also enjoys writing. His poetry has appeared in magazines since the 80s. He has published two books of poetry, and if you stop by the building in Columbia, ask for a copy, and he will be glad to give you one.
Adron and his wife Carolyn live in Columbia, MD, and have four adult children.

Dan Hyun
Church Services Consultant
Dr. Daniel Hyun was raised in the greater Philadelphia area and is passionate for God’s work in the city having served with urban churches in Philadelphia and Baltimore. In 2008, he was privileged to lead a team to start The Village Church in Baltimore, MD with dreams of making God famous through justice, mission, and reconciliation.
Dan serves as a missionary, pastor, professor, and writer and speaks on a wide variety of issues including justice, mission, reconciliation, and leadership. God led Dan to help start and lead the Ethnos Conference to catalyze the Church in conversations about justice, reconciliation, and mission. Dan is also the author of a new book, The Bible in 52 Weeks: A Yearlong Bible Study Companion.
His interests include sports, working out, good food, and conversations on culture. After God, his greatest joy & desire in life is for his lovely wife, Judie, and two daughters. You can follow Dan on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook to see what God continues to show him.

Mike Trammell

Michael (Mike) Trammell serves as a church services consultant, equipping and encouraging pastors and other leaders.
Serving as senior pastor of Mt. Airy Baptist Church, with his wife Pam, before retiring in 2017, Mike knows ministry can be joyful, and painful. He draws on that wealth of experience to minister to other pastors and leaders.
He also understands what it means to be a cooperating Southern Baptist, serving multiple times on the BCM/D General Mission Board (including the role of President) and as BCM/D president for two consecutive terms. On the national level, Trammell served on multiple SBC committees, including ten years on the SBC Executive Committee.
Mike said, “I’ve always tried to be faithful where I’ve been asked to serve.”
He grew up in a Christian home and made a confession of faith at Second Baptist Church, Hot Springs, Arkansas. After college, he served as an Army Lieutenant, a result of his Army ROTC participation.
Mike later earned a degree from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary while working on staff at Bellevue Baptist Church, under the leadership of Adrian Rogers, who ordained Mike to Gospel ministry.
He and Pam also served at Second Baptist Church in Houston, Texas, where Mike was a minister of church programs. They left to pastor two churches in Arkansas, including Highland Drive Baptist Church in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
Mike earned a Doctor of Ministry degree from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City, Mo.

Victor Kirk,Sr.

Victor Kirk Sr., the senior pastor of Sharon Bible Fellowship Church in Lanham, serves the Baptist Convention of Maryland/Delaware (BCM/D) as a consultant to African American churches. “I am a people person! It’s in my DNA. I enjoy meeting pastors and leaders across our great two-state convention, serving and servicing them, and providing assistance to help pastors and their churches succeed in their ministry to God.”
Kirk grew up in Philadelphia. Sharing his testimony, he said, “I accepted Jesus into my life at a young age at Vacation Bible School. I went off to college and lost my way, but the Lord restored me and called me to the preaching ministry in 1983. My wife, Vallie, also grew up in Philadelphia. We met when we were both camp counselors. My wife made it known to me that she was interested, and I certainly felt that way too. We married in 1984. Now we have three adult children — Victor Jr (Jonell), Matthew, and Leah. Vallie works as a special education educator in the Prince George’s County Public School System.
Victor and Vallie enjoy watching their favorite crime shows and playing games with the family in their spare time.

Demetra Bennett

A native of Chicago Illinois, Bennett grew up in a Christian home and was introduced to Jesus by her mother at an early age. Upon accepting the call to Christ, Bennett was baptized and has since had opportunities to serve the LORD in many ways over the years. Bennett claims “My journey in Christ has not always been flawless, but I am grateful that He does not give up on those He claims as His own.”
After high school, Bennett earned a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Illinois State University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Illinois. In the past, she has worked in insurance and automotive finance management. Most recently she worked in a staff support position with Anne Arundel County Public Schools, and she served as a church bookkeeper for more than 17 years.
In addition to her current professional role, Bennett ministers as a pastor’s wife. Her husband, Marty Bennett, is the senior pastor of Life Connection Church in Severn, Maryland. Bennett loves singing and has been a part choirs and worship teams for many years. She enjoys cooking, hosting people in their home, and meaningful conversation with friends. She and Marty also enjoy their family. They have three children — an adult son (Meric), and two college aged children, son (Luke), and daughter (Rachel).

Nathan Walters
Collegiate Ministry Consultant / Director of Baptist Student Ministry, University of Delaware
Nathan Walters serves as Baptist Convention of Maryland/Delaware (BCM/D) Collegiate Ministry Consultant, and as the director of Christian Challenge at the University of Delaware.
As the BCM/D Collegiate Ministry Consultant, Nathan assists campus ministers throughout Maryland and Delaware and helps start and strengthen other collegiate ministries in the region. He also partners with campus ministers on a regional and national level as they encourage one another in seeking to minister to the ever-changing demographic of college students in America.
Serving as the director of Christian Challenge at the University of Delaware, Nathan meets with and oversees the student leadership team, teaches Tuesday night large group, manages the ministry house and residents on campus, disciples students, plans and coordinates retreats and events, and plots the vision for CC in the future.
Nathan holds an undergrad degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Delaware, where he Is currently serving, as well as a Masters of Divinity from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Nathan and his wife, Jamie, live In Newark, DE along with their two boys, Nate and Nolan.
Whether It Is a small bible study of college students at your church or a broader vision for evangelism on a nearby college campus, Nathan always willing to assist our BCM/D pastors in reaching the collegiate body of Christ.

John Gauger
Church Services Consultant
Gauger visits and connects with senior pastors and assists congregations, strengthening their ministry effectiveness, and reaching their communities with the Gospel.
Gauger and his wife, Linda, have served together in ministry since 1977, culminating in twenty-seven years at FBC, Perryville, where “a high percentage of those we have seen trust Christ have grown to faithfully serve the Lord,” Gauger said at his retirement. “We have seen a number become pastors, pastors’ wives, missionaries, and one campus missionary.”
Under Gauger’s pastoral leadership, the church ministered in four countries, developing especially close connections with churches in Mexico and West Africa in addition to several local missions efforts, including a Celebrate Recovery ministry, annual block parties, and various ministries of compassion. They also partnered with local schools, with sister churches in need, and Baltimore church plants.
Gauger is also an assistant professor with Liberty University online.

A Maryland native, Kris has been a member of Tri-County Baptist Church in Damascus, Maryland, for over 19 years. She has served in children’s ministry for almost all of that time, teaching Sunday school, directing VBS, planning and coordinating special events, serving as AWANA Commander, traveling with kids to summer camp, and, as she says, “cleaning up lots of glitter and crushed goldfish!”
As a child, Buckman attended Mt. Airy Baptist Church with her family for more than 15 years. She made a profession of faith in Christ as a child while at a backyard kids club and was baptized as a young teen. She graduated from the University of Baltimore with a degree in communications and has a Master’s Degree in children’s and Family Ministry from Bethel Seminary.
Kris and her husband, Todd, have two sons, Ben and Jake. In her spare time, she enjoys reading and vacationing with her family.

Jessica grew up in Baldwin, Md., and attended Long Green Baptist Church. She attended college at the University of Maryland where she studied math and was actively involved in campus ministry. Upon graduating she became a semester missionary through the North American Mission Board (NAMB), working with Baptist Campus Ministries at Anne Arundel Community College, where she later continued serving for four years. She was then offered the position as Baptist Collegiate Minister at the University of Maryland, College Park, where she has been since June 2007.
Jessica is married to Andy, who is an auto mechanic. “We spend a lot of our time hanging out with college students and fixing cars for people, but when we do have free time we enjoy going out for a good meal, relaxing while watching TV, hanging out with friends, and playing with our two crazy labs.”

Melody Knox
Women’s Ministry Consultant/Woman’s Missionary Union (WMU) Executive Director/Minister’s Wives
As the Maryland/Delaware Woman’s Missionary Union (WMU) Executive Director, Melody encourages churches to live a missional lifestyle. She is responsible for having materials for Annie Armstrong and Lottie Moon offerings mailed to BCM/D churches. She is also responsible for the annual Women on Ministry Retreat, Mother/Daughter Camp, Girls Camp and Boys Camp held at Camp Wo-Me-To. Melody’s goal is for all women to leave a godly legacy for those who come behind them.
Melody was an employee for 24 years for the Federal government and resigned to homeschool her children for several years. She recently retired from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, Graduate School, after sixteen years of employment. Melody, along with other family members, is currently the caretaker for her elderly mother.
She and her husband David have been married for thirty plus years and is the mom to a son (Justin) and a daughter, Jenna. She also has three adorable heartthrobs who called her “Mimi. In her leisure time, Melody enjoys reading, exercising, and spending time encouraging women in all walks of life.

Emily Reedy

Emily Reedy became the director of Skycroft Conference Center in 2018. She first served at Skycroft as a lifeguard when she was 15 and says, “I fell in love with camp ministry, the staff and this very special place we call Skycroft and all that God has done here.”
She has a bachelor’s degree in English and public relations from West Virginia Wesleyan College and a master’s degree in business administration from Mount Saint Mary’s University. After working with community engagement campaigns and communication initiatives for the Frederick County Public Schools and Washington County government, she returned to Skycroft, working with past director Doug DuBois as the associate director.
“There are a thousand reasons to love working at Skycroft – the beauty of the natural place, the incredible people I serve alongside and the pure fun of summer camp. But what I love most is being an eyewitness to the amazing work God does in churches and individuals during their time on the mountain. Every week we get to hear firsthand the testimonies of campers and retreatants whose lives have been truly changed by the gospel.”
She and her husband Steven, a middle school teacher in Frederick, have two children, Boone and Josie, and a Goldendoodle named Delta.
When she has free time, Emily enjoys spending it outside with her family – kayaking the Antietam, tending to the garden and dabbling in floral arranging.

Becki Burner serves as the chef at Skycroft Conference Center.
Before serving at Skycroft, Becki and her husband Jamie owned and operated the Red Byrd Restaurant for over eight years.
After earning a Bachelor’s in Education from Shepherd College (now Shepherd University) in West Virginia, she chose to stay home with her two children, Demi and Wyatt, who have both worked at Skycroft). She ran an in-home daycare center, where she said her children made lifelong friends.
Becki says that at Skycroft. she enjoys sharing God’s love through friendly chats and hugs. “Many guests have become friends over the course of my ten years on staff.”

Prior to working at Skycroft, Emily worked as a dairy nutritional consultant and ran a nutritional testing lab. She also worked at the Frederick Rescue Mission for six years, managing a life recovery program.
Emily and her husband, Jim, a maintenance mechanic at Skycroft, enjoy working together. “We enjoy being able to witness God’s moving in the people He brings and His beauty in our midst.”

“I enjoy being able to help lay the foundation for groups to come and ‘retreat’ on God’s mountain,” Taylor says.
“Camp ministry has always been close to my heart, especially since I gave my life to the Lord when I was in seventh grade at a summer camp in North Carolina. It brings me great joy to be able to witness and serve the many people the Lord brings to the mountain.
“The great thing about camp ministry is that every day is different. I truly enjoy the various tasks it takes to make ministry happen on the mountain.”
Taylor and her husband Andrew, who serves as recreation manager, met at Skycroft while working a summer together. “We have two cats (Toby and Nelly) and a brood of chickens that we adore!”
In her free time, she enjoys swimming, spending time at the local coffee shop, doing outdoor activities and spending quality time with her family and friends.

He served in bank management jobs with MBNA America; Bank of America; Wachovia; Chevy Chase Bank and Capital One. He also sold insurance and managed a Joseph A. Bank men’s clothing store.
He has a Bachelor’s in Business Management from Wesley College in Dover, Delaware, and a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Delaware.
He and his wife, Patti, married in 1992 and have a daughter, Hannah, and a son, Ben. Hannah and her husband Curtis have twin sons – Maverick and Hayden.
“I like many things working at Skycroft – the family atmosphere, the opportunity to assist nonbelievers in coming to know God and the beauty I get to see every day while working on top of God’s mountain.
“I think my favorite thing about working at Skycroft is when I’m working on weekends, and there are groups of people from multiple diverse backgrounds having times of praise and worship. I can walk around and listen to their various styles of music and worship all in one place, at Skycroft.”

In addition to working alongside his wife, Guest Relations Manager Taylor, Andrew enjoys the diversity of activities in his job – running the zip line, paintball or helping guests with technology questions.
“I enjoy getting to serve others in many ways through my work at Skycroft,” says Andrew.
He completed his undergraduate degree at Liberty University with a Bachelor of Science in Biblical studies.
“Taylor and I actually met while working a summer at Skycroft. After both coming on full-time, we were married here in 2018.” Andrew said he and Taylor love caring for their two cats and a brood of chickens.
In his free time, Andrew enjoys woodworking. He also loves playing drums in the worship band at Summit Trace, his and Taylor’s home church.

He graduated from Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Seattle, Washington. Before his work at Skycroft, he served six years as the food services manager at Twin Lakes Bible Camp in Iowa.
“I enjoy working with the people we have on staff here at Skycroft. It’s a good team and I’ve made numerous friends,” says Andrew.
He and his wife, Sarah, have two children, Emily and Jonah.
“We enjoy going to the beach at Ocean City and we love traveling to Florida. I personally love going back to Iowa to visit my family and see my Iowa State Cyclones play (Iowa State University teams)!

Before coming to Skycroft, Jim worked in construction and as an auto mechanic.
