GRANTS

The BCM/D has multiple grant programs through which we partner with churches to assist them in the ministry to which God has called them in their communities.

In addition, churches should check with their local Association to inquire about the possibility of grant programs they may offer.

Namb evangelism grants

In partnership with the North American Mission Board (NAMB), grants are available to churches to assist them in their evangelistic efforts. These grants vary in size and are dependent upon the cost of the initiative, event, and/or training program taking place. The grant request must fall within the evangelism strategy of the BCM/D (to resource, equip or mobilize a church for evangelism) as well as the specific parameters that have been established by NAMB. Grants are not available for personnel salaries or for mission trips outside of the United States. Please contact Mark Dooley for further details about these grants and for information about how to apply.

Strengthening Churches Grants

Each year, the Baptist Foundation makes available a sizable gift to the BCM/D. One portion of this gift is used for church planting while the other portion is set aside for church strengthening. These provide the funds for a competitive grant that churches can apply for. These grants exist in order to assist in projects designed to expand the outreach and ministry of churches in existence for three years or more. The maximum grant per project will not exceed $4,000 and grant funds are approved by a BCM/D General Mission Board (GMB) Committee. Only one project request will be considered from any church or association.

The grant submission time frame is February 1 – May 31 of each calendar year. Recipients are selected by the end of June,  and the funds are delivered by July. Each recipient is required to submit a written evaluation within 30 days of completion of the project to the Strengthening Churches Grants Committee of the GMB. SMO Grant Application

The SMO is dedicated to supporting BCM/D churches in their efforts to revitalize and plant new churches and to raise up teams and church plant leaders. This funding helps to expand God’s Kingdom through these initiatives.

This grant opens January 1st and is open until the funds are exhausted.

Compassion Ministry Grants

The BCM/D partners with Send Relief through the annual Global Hunger offering of Southern Baptists to provide small grants to churches involved with food pantries and other hunger ministries. These grants are competitive in nature and are offered on a quarterly basis. Only churches who work through the application process will be considered to receive a grant. Quarterly reporting to Send Relief is required for churches to qualify for future grants. For more information, please contact Mark Dooley at [email protected].
