Victor Kirk, Sr. Joins BCM/D Staff

COLUMBIA, Md —Victor Kirk, the senior pastor of Sharon Bible Fellowship Church in Lanham, has joined the Baptist Convention of Maryland/Delaware (BCM/D) as a consultant to African American churches. He may be new to the staff, but he’s been a friend to the BCM/D for many years, serving on the BCM/D General Mission Board (GMB) and the GMB Administrative Committee. Currently, he serves as the vice president of the African American Fellowship of the BCM/D.

“I am a people person! It’s in my DNA. I’m excited about meeting pastors and churches across our great two-state convention. I look forward to servicing them and providing assistance to help the pastors and their churches succeed in their ministry to God. I’m also excited to work with folks in the BCM/D who love the Lord and are dedicated to Kingdom work.

Kirk grew up in  Philadelphia. “I accepted Jesus into my life at a young age at Vacation Bible School. I went off to college and lost my way, but the Lord restored me and called me to the preaching ministry in 1983. My wife, Vallie, also grew up in Philadelphia. We met when we were both camp counselors. My wife made it known to me that she was interested, and I certainly felt that way too. We married in 1984. Now we have three children who are all in their 30’s — Victor Jr (Jonell), Matthew, and Leah. Vallie works as a special education educator in the Prince George’s County Public School System.

Victor and Vallie enjoy watching their favorite crime shows and playing games with the family in their spare time.
