Retirement Celebration
Linthicum Baptist Church (LBC) had a retirement celebration for Tim Goins and his wife, Michelle, on March 3. After Tim preached his final sermon as pastor of LBC, members gathered for sandwiches, chips, and other dishes; Tim brought his famous freshly made homemade peanut butter and chocolate fudge.

A group from the church sang “Friends” by Michael W. Smith, and Sunday school teacher Fran Sadler presented the couple with a book filled with notes from the congregation, photos, and remembrances.

Grief Share
Maple View Baptist Church, Joppa, has a new GriefShare ministry. Topics include loneliness and sadness, self-care, fearfulness, anger, regrets, and more. Sessions are self-contained and are from 7 to 8:30 pm on Tuesdays through May 28.

Laurel Community Easter Egg Hunt
First Baptist Church of Laurel will host a free Easter Egg hunt at the church for the Laurel Community on Saturday, March 23, from 10 to 11:30 am (Rain or Shine!) for children ages two – fifth grade. Space is limited to 150 children. Register at www.fbclaurel.com.

March is for Missions
Colonial Baptist Church, Randallstown, will hold its 25th Missions Conference on March 8-10. The theme is “A Heart for the Harvest.” They will have a praise and worship service on March 8, workshops for all ages on March 9, and a missions-based worship service on March 10. Missionaries will also share in Sunday School classes. Bernard Fuller, pastor of New Song Bible Fellowship, will be the guest speaker at the culminating March 9 morning worship service. New Song Bible Fellowship Church, Lanham, will have its Missions Conference March 13 – 24. The theme is “Proclaiming the Good News Everywhere, Every Day, to Everyone — That All May Know Him, based on Psalm 96 and Philippians 3:10.

The conference schedule is below:

  • Mission Focus Prayer, March 13 – 7 pm via Zoom.
  • Wednesday Bible Study, March 20 – 10:45 am-12:45 pm and 7:00-9:00 pm via Zoom.
  • Saturday, March 23 — 9 am-3 pm – Missions Conference/Workshops.
  • Sunday, March 24, the conference culminates with the worship service beginning at 10 am.

Manchester Baptist Church will hold its annual “Share the Gospel” missions conference on March 16. Joel Kurz, pastor of The Garden Church, Baltimore, will be the guest speaker. Additionally, messages from international and local community missions will be presented to local mission groups.

It’s a Coffeehouse Weekend
Elvaton Baptist Church, Millersville, will kick off its new coffeehouse ministry from 7-9 p.m. on March 9 with the Blues Brothers-style Full Gospel Boogie Band. Snacks and soft drinks will be available.

Epic Church, Aberdeen, will have a coffeehouse from 7-9 p.m. on March 8 to benefit Epic Church students and their future trips. The evening will include coffee, pastries, and live music.
