Church Offers Coding Camp for Kids
From July 21–25, Restoration Church, Laurel, held a coding camp for children in the local community. About 20 kids attended each evening, enjoying lessons about what coding is and the basics of programming.
Everyone Belongs Camp: God Has a Purpose for your Life
The Baptist Convention of Maryland/Delaware’s Everyone Belongs Camp, now in its fifth year, welcomed individuals with disabilities along with their families on July 18-20 at Skycroft Conference Center. Some campers arrived with one parent, others with a mom, dad and siblings. The youngest camper was 12 and the oldest was 36.
It’s Summertime: Play Ball & Win Souls
On Sunday afternoons throughout the summer, Hope Baptist Church in Laurel hosts softball games at the Johns Hopkins APL fields from 4 to 8 pm for its church members, the community, and other churches that want to join in the fun. In addition to softball, they have other games such as ultimate frisbee, basketball and corn hole, as well as offering light refreshments and encouraging others to bring food and drinks to share. The games are an opportunity for fellowship between believers and community outreach.
Disability Sunday: “Blessed is the One Who Will Eat at the Feast in the Kingdom of God”
Sunday, July 13, marked the second annual Baptist Convention of Maryland/Delaware (BCM/D) Disability Sunday. Multiple churches stepped up to recognize the emphasis, incorporating special prayer, offering opportunities for individuals with disabilities to serve, and other creative ways to raise awareness about disability in the church.
