Hispanic Worship Service — We are Not Alone

The Baptist Convention of Maryland/Delaware (BCM/D) invites Hispanic congregations to attend the “United Hispanic Worship Service” at First Baptist Church of Laurel (FBCL) from 3-5 p.m. on Oct. 16. BCM/D Church Planting Catalyst Alejandro Molero said, “The theme is ‘We are not alone. We are family.’”

Hispanic churches in Maryland/Delaware are active, Molero said, and the joint worship service is an excellent way for families and churches to come together as one body for fellowship and worship.

FBCL’s Hispanic congregation’s praise team will lead the music and worship. Raul Santamaria, the Southern Baptist Conservatives of Virginia’s church planting strategist for Hispanic ministries, will be the guest speaker.

In addition to the worship time, visitors will be able to stop at several information stations for information about seminary training, children’s ministries, and even immigration information to help with status questions and issues.

Molero said that group worship services were standard and were very encouraging when he served in Venezuela. “That’s the way we used to network between churches,” he said.

The Scripture reference for the service will be Psalm 111:1, “I will praise the Lord with all my heart in the assembly of the upright and in the congregation.”

Molero is encouraging churches to attend. “Please bring a group of brothers and sisters from your church and praise King Jesus along with others from the same family of God,” he said. “Let’s worship together. There is one faith, one baptism, one Lord. We are not alone.”
