COLUMBIA, Md. — Dr. Daniel Hyun joined the BCM/D staff as a church services consultant in January and is serving Maryland/Delaware churches, encouraging and equipping pastors and church leaders.

Hyun has served as a missionary, pastor, professor, and writer and speaks on a wide variety of issues, including justice, mission, reconciliation, and leadership. God led him to help start and lead the Ethnos Conference to catalyze the Church in conversations about justice, reconciliation, and mission. Additionally, Hyun is also the author of a new book, The Bible in 52 Weeks: A Yearlong Bible Study Companion.

Asked about his spiritual journey, Hyun said, “I grew up in a faithful family but had a deep season of rebellion where the Lord drew me back to Him.” He and his wife, Judie,  met at seminary while she was finishing her studies. The couple married and now have two daughters, Deborah, 14, and Tabitha, 12.

Hyun has a passion for God’s work in the city, having served with urban churches in Philadelphia and Baltimore. In 2008, he was privileged to lead a team to start The Village Church in Baltimore with dreams of making God famous through justice, mission, and reconciliation.

Asked about hobbies, Hyun said his interests include — “sports, working out, good food, and conversations on culture.”

Hyun invites readers to follow him on TwitterInstagram, and Facebook to see what God continues to show him.
