OUR MISSION

Our mission is to act on behalf of this Convention in Christian ethics, public affairs, interfaith cooperation, and Christian social concerns. Specifically, but not exclusively, these areas include family life, human relations, race relations, moral issues, economic life, daily work, citizenship, church-state relations, cooperative relationships with other religious groups, and those areas where the gospel and the churches affect or are affected by community and public life. The CLPA Committee may act on matters referred to it by this Convention, by the General Mission Board, or by any agency of this Convention.

OUR OBJECTIVES

We strive to inform and involve the BCMD churches in areas of our culture where Christian principles must be applied.

We hope to keep churches informed of legislation that impacts Christian life in Maryland and Delaware by working with various organizations that promote life, marriage, family, and morality.

CLPA has decided to focus on specific areas of concern to the church in our culture.

While we are not confined to these areas; there may be other issues that arise that require our attention, activism and prayers.  These provide a template of areas that the CLPA will focus on.

OUR PARTNERS

Maryland Family Institute

The Maryland Family Institute exists to protect life, promote marriage, preserve religious liberty and protect parental rights in the state of Maryland.

Maryland Right to Life

Maryland Right to Life works to protect all human life by working to make abortion, infanticide, euthanasia, and the destruction of human embryos socially, legally, and morally unacceptable and by promoting positive alternatives to these acts.

Maryland March for Life

The Maryland March for Life is a grass roots, non-partisan, non-sectarian organization that is comprised of many pro-life and pro-family groups throughout the state of Maryland. The Maryland March for Life does not seek to supplant existing pro-life organizations, but rather seeks to strengthen them by encouraging better cooperation and communication.

Students for Life

Students for life is one of the leading pro-life organizations in the world with a  mission to build and become the voice of the Pro-Life Generation. SFLA creates strategy, policy, and programming to equip those most targeted for abortion to change minds of their peers, transform communities by connecting women and families in crisis with non-violent support, and advocate for public policy that protects both mother and child from the predatory abortion industry.
