Symphony of Prayer for Pregnancy Center

ABERDEEN, Md. — For the past four years, Oak Grove Baptist Church (OGBC) in Bel Air, Md., has hosted a Concert of Prayer for Alpha’s Glory Pregnancy Resource Center in Aberdeen as part of the observance of Sanctity of Life Month.

This year’s Concert of Prayer was held on Sunday, Jan. 11, 2026. Adam Lewandowski, OGBC pastor of music and worship, and the church’s praise team led about 40 people in a time of worshipful singing.

After worship, participants entered into a focused prayer time for Alpha’s Glory and their many areas of ministry.

Karen Wilson, executive director of Alpha’s Glory, shared, “We gather here today, each of us bringing our own melodies of hope, gratitude, and concern. Yet together, we create a symphony of prayer that resonates with the heart of our ministry. Just as musicians rely on their instruments to harmonize, we rely on one another to lift our voices in unison, seeking the guidance and grace of Almighty God.”

Prayer time was organized into breakout groups, allowing participants to focus on specific needs. Groups prayed for Alpha’s Glory clients, seeking their salvation, emotional healing, easy and safe access to the center, and wisdom for peer counselors as they explain available services and programs.

Others focused on the center’s sonogram program, their Secret Garden Ministry, fatherhood initiatives, sexual integrity resources, and community outreach efforts. Additional prayer was offered for provision — both for client needs and operational expenses — and for the ministry team itself, including staff members, board members, volunteers, and prayer warriors, asking for spiritual protection, guidance, and strength.

Before leaving, the church donated a collection of diapers and baby wipes to the center.

The pregnancy center ministry is one of many community outreach efforts at Oak Grove Baptist Church, as members seek to love and engage their community in the name of Jesus.
