BCM/D, together with the Baltimore Baptist Association, is excited to bring you a training opportunity for all those who work with preschoolers in our weekday educator roles or ministry roles!
Bring your entire staff to a day of equipping and encouraging! After three main sessions (and lunch!), each school or ministry will be given time (and space) to meet with their team for any back-to school that needs to be done. If you were planning on gathering your team together for a back-to-school meeting, use this opportunity to do just that, with an extra helping of exciting training in the morning!

Session 1: “Jesus Loves Preschoolers”
Jesus calls us to welcome children in his name. By doing so, we are following his command. But what does it mean to truly welcome preschoolers? By understanding the reasons and methods behind this important task, we can discover ways to fulfill Jesus’ call.
Session 2: “Meeting Everyone’s Needs in the Classroom”
Each child is uniquely designed according to His purpose. This session will equip teachers with tools and resources to meet the unique needs of preschoolers affected by disabilities.
Session 3: “Classroom Management 101”
Learn practical techniques to handle everyday challenges, ensuring smooth and productive days for both teachers and students. This session is designed to equip you with the tools and confidence needed to foster a harmonious and engaging classroom.
Meet the speakers:
Josh Zello
Family Ministry Director / Redemption City Church
Josh Zello has been married to his best friend, Hannah, for five years, and they have a two-year-old little girl named Avery. Early childhood proves to be a critical stage of life. Preschoolers learn an incredible amount in such a short span, presenting a prime opportunity to present the teachings of Jesus in tangible and pragmatic ways. Due to this, he has dedicated over ten years to serving in preschool ministry, lending his efforts to churches ranging in size from 17,000 attendees to as few as 250. His passion lies in crafting gospel-centered, developmentally appropriate, and thriving preschool ministries.
Katie Matthews
BCM/D Disability Ministry Missionary
Katie Matthews is a mom of two, a pastors wife, and BCM/D’s Disability Ministry Missionary. At her home church, she serves as the codirector of children’s ministry and leads a disability ministry called Bethany Blessings. She is passionate about bringing the gospel to families of individuals with disabilities and seeks to train other church members on how to minister to these families. Her desire is for the church to love individuals who have disabilities as best as they can so that both the church and the families can experience the blessing of church inclusion.
