This session is designed to help both single and married men to remain pure and holy in their sexuality. \nA Man and His Mental and Emotional HealthBrian Bailey\, LCPC – Radical Positivity Consulting\, LLC\nMental and Emotional challenges were not foreign to people in the Bible. Men like David and Paul demonstrated mental and emotional anguish over their respective situations. This session will help men to develop and awareness of their mental and emotional state\, while provide practical wisdom for moving towards health. \nA Man and His FamilyJoel Rainey\, PhD\, Lead Pastor – Covenant Church\nThe Apostle Paul instructed men to love their wives and raise their children in the admonition and instruction of the Lord. This session will provide practical steps for maintaining a healthy marriage as well as a nourishing relationship with their children. \nA Man and His Physical HealthOmari Jackson\, PhD. (Sociology)\, Certified Wellness Coach – Jackson Transformational Wellness and Fitness\nThe Apostle Paul reminded the Corinthian church that our bodies are the temple of God. This has implications on how men are to steward their bodies for the glory of God and for their own good. This session will help to encourage men to prioritize their own physical health while providing practical steps for growing in this area. \nA Man and His ShieldKeith Myer\, Director of Missions – Eastern Baptist Association\nThis breakout session is designed to help men protect their families from the threat of sexual exploitation. \nA Man and His Spiritual Rhythms (morning session only)Jamie Caldwell\, State Director\, MD/DE – Send Network; Lead Pastor – South Shore Church\nJesus modeled rhythms such as prayer\, solitude and rest for his disciples. Our spiritual health is able to thrive when we follow Jesus’s model of such rhythms. This session will help men to identify and implement healthy rhythms into their life in order to grow their spiritual health. \nA Man and His Finances (morning session only)Tom Stolle\, Executive Director – BCM/D\nJesus desires his disciples to be good stewards of their possessions. This session will help men to better steward their money by covering financial topics from developing a budget to preparing for the future. \nA Man and His Leadership (afternoon session only)Glenn Swanson\, Senior Pastor – Bayside Baptist Church; Former BCM/D President\nThe Bible places much of the leadership responsibility onto men\, particularly when it comes to our family and our church. However\, many men will lead outside of these two institutions as well. This session will encourage those men who desire to become better leaders by providing practical steps and wisdom for leadership. \nA Man and Mentorship (afternoon session only)Jeremy Dickson\, Church Partnership Missionary – BCM/D\nThe Apostle Paul mentored Timothy and instructed him to mentor other men who would in turn mentor others also. So\, let’s get started! \nLeading in a Multiethnic Church\nRev. Dan Hyun\, Director of Formation and Health BCM/D \nJoin us as we explore the power of the ministry of reconciliation as demonstrated through God’s church. How about those that graduated from youth group but are still hanging around? And what about the college campus down the street that needs to be reached? Come hear from a panel of campus ministers and young adult leaders to learn how to reach out to the current generation as they transition into young adulthood! \nCultivating a Healthy Women’s Ministry Group\nPayton Pope\, Spousal Care Coordinator BCM/D \nThe goal of any Women’s Ministry is to grow closer to Jesus through Scripture and fellowship. But what do you do when things feel like they’ve hit a wall? Maybe it’s a lack of resources\, leader burnout\, or low attendance—these are just a few of the common challenges women’s ministry groups face. In this workshop\, we’ll talk about how to build a strong foundation for your group\, how to spot potential issues or “red flags\,” and offer some helpful resources to overcome common challenges! \nThe Digital Front Door: Why Your Website Matters More Than You Think\nKris Buckman\, Youth & Kids Consultant BCM/D \nYour church’s website is more than just a digital bulletin board—it’s your front door\, your welcome mat\, and your first impression to new families. In this interactive workshop\, we’ll reflect on what your current website is really saying about your church and how to make it say\, “You’re welcome here.” \nWe’ll explore: \n·       What new families are actually looking for when they visit your site. \n·       Where to place key information like service times\, kids’ ministry info\, and contact details. \n·       How your website reflects (or confuses) your church’s culture. \n·       Real-life examples of what’s working (and what’s not!). \n·       How social media ties into your site—and how to stay consistent with simple scheduling tools. \nYou’ll walk away with practical ideas\, evaluation tools\, and a renewed vision for using your church’s digital front door to welcome the next generation of guests. \nBuilding Strong Men: Foundations for a Viable Men’s Ministry\nJeremy Dickson\, Director of Church Strengthening BCM/D \nIn today’s culture\, men face unique spiritual\, emotional\, and relational challenges. Every generation is different. Every generation is valuable. Churches\, businesses and organizations are struggling at a time of necessary transition because they are struggling to answer vital questions regarding the generational differences within their organization. \nUnderstanding ourselves allows us to understand others and give them grace to be themselves. The better we understand the origin of our own values\, the more grace we will have for others in understanding the origin of their values. This legitimizes not only our own unique set of values\, but also the unique set of values of those who are unlike us. The goal of this book is to provide a tool for you to take this journey of understanding and grace\, so that we can maximize the benefit that each of our generations bring to the table. \nYou Don’t Have to Start a Disability Ministry\nKatie Matthews\, Disability Ministry Consultant BCM/D \nOften times when we hear the phrase “disability ministry\,”\, we think of programs and outreach and not relationships and access. SUMMARY:Pastor Formation Cohort
DESCRIPTION:Pastoring is not a 9-to-5 job.\n There is an unending list of important things to do as you seek to serve others sacrificially. The demands of ministry make it difficult to find a healthy rhythm of life and work\, and can leave you running on empty.“I don’t know if I can keep up this pace anymore.” \n“I am on the verge of just walking away.” \n“The pressure has reached a breaking point.” \nIf you have felt this way you are not alone. \nWe welcome you to our Pastoral Formation Community. Pastor\, author\, and artist Ronnie Martin and BCM/D Director of Formation and Health\, Dan Hyun\, will provide perspectives and practices that will lead to newfound flourishing in your life and ministry. You’ll learn to develop a sustainable pattern of ministry that both honors the Lord and the people you care for while guarding you from burnout. \nOur cohort-based approach blends some teaching but will primarily be oriented around connection with one another with two half-day retreats (February 19 and May 21) that bookend shorter regionally based gatherings throughout March and April. Together we’ll explore practices that restore attentiveness to God and people: crafting sane schedules\, shepherding from identity rather than insecurity\, leading from prayerful presence\, and building friendships that sustain the long haul. \nCheck out more details including the regional dates and locations below. Space is intentionally limited so register soon to hold your spot. \nIf you’re tired of measuring ministry by speed and volume\, come learn to do less—and accomplish more of what actually matters. Your soul\, your family\, and your church will notice the difference. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n February Retreat\n Date: February 19\, 2026\, 9:30AM – 3PM \nLocation: South Shore Church \nKick off the Pastoral Formation Community with our first half-day retreat.
