Rolando Castro serves with our Baptist Convention of Maryland/Delaware’s church planting team, specifically ministering to and with Hispanic churches. He identifies potential planters, assists in the assessment process and encourages and supports them. He also works to train and coach Hispanic leaders and volunteers in strategic areas of organizational development. And he’s a friend to Hispanic pastors, helping them get connected to the BCM/D staff, share resources and to network them with other church leaders.
Rolando, and his wife, Zulma, are strong supporters of Hispanic church leaders throughout the convention.
Rolando also is planter/pastor of ConeXiones, a bilingual church in Columbia, Md.
Prior to his ministry with the BCM/D, Rolando served as a church planter in the Potomac Baptist Association.
Both Rolando and Zulma are natives of Costa Rica where they both had successful careers as lawyers.
When they’re not working together, Rolando enjoys watching sports, window-shopping, watching movies, and reading. His favorite genre is fantasy—think, “Lord of the Rings.” He also enjoys playing with “Taco,” the family’s Chihuahua.
They have two grown children, Fabian and Ariana.
Rolando is available to meet with church leaders regarding Hispanic ministries and church planting.
