FBCHDG is seeking a Spirit-filled part-time male pastor for a small congregation. We are looking for someone who has completed seminary, is a servant of God and people, and is sound in the Bible as well as Southern Baptist doctrine. We desire a man who excels in the areas of sermon preparation, administration, counseling, and facilitating communication. Position expectations include ministering to the congregation, guiding outreach to the community, preparing and delivering engaging Biblically-based sermons, serving on various boards and committees of the church, as well as overseeing and advising the office manager. Havre de Grace is a growing waterfront community at the head of the Chesapeake Bay with a current population of about 14,000. The average age of the congregation is 48.

Worship LeaderGrace Baptist Church of Sunset Beach (GBCSB), Pasadena

General Expectations
The worship leader will be a born-again believer in Jesus Christ as personal Lord and Savior. He or she will work closely with the pastor to create worship services that exalt the name of Jesus Christ, encourage the heart of the believer, and emphasize the Word of God. The ideal candidate will be a skilled single- or multiple-instrument musician (piano, guitar, keyboard), capable of leading congregational singing. He or she may be part of an ensemble, but the salary will be paid to one leader. The ideal candidate will also be active in the church, with membership preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the pastor to plan a blended selection of contemporary praise music and traditional hymns for congregational singing for each Sunday morning service (typically six selections, including four worship songs, special music, and invitation). In addition, accompany doxology and postlude music (“Blessed Be the Tie” or similar).
  • Oversee the Sunday morning preparation of music, rehearsals, performance, and audiovisual support.
  • Schedule instrumentalists or perform prelude music prior to worship.
  • Coordinate and/or perform music for special programs for Christmas and Easter. The worship leader may coordinate music for other occasions, such as July 4, revivals, and other special occasions.
  • Include children and youth when appropriate to encourage their participation in worship services.
  • Maintain and update CCLI and online streaming licenses for worship music.
  • Ensure sound equipment is maintained. Plan for repairs, replacement, and upgrade as needed.
  • Maintain a vibrant personal walk with the Lord Jesus through prayer, Bible reading, and study, encouraging the congregation in their individual relationships with the Lord.

The church has some resources available for use by the worship leader. These resources include a piano, multi-channel audio system, flat-screen televisions at the front and rear of the sanctuary, and components that can be used to play .mp3 files, CDs, or DVDs.  In addition, the Church has a CCLI license which grants permission for the use of thousands of contemporary songs from hundreds of Christian artists. The church also pays for an online streaming license.

Salary: Negotiable based on duties, experience, and skill level, but not to exceed $300/week.

Paid vacation: The worship leader will have two weeks of paid vacation and may be absent for a total of four weeks per year, including vacation. The worship leader will schedule replacement musicians to fill in for Sunday morning services when he or she is away and will arrange to pay the replacement musicians, except when on paid vacation.

Position requirements
This youth ministry director must help champion and protect the broader mission of the church. The candidate must demonstrate a commitment to the core values of the church and seek to integrate the youth ministry into the ongoing pursuit of the unique calling and vision of LBC as a church body. This youth ministry director must communicate frequently and relate well with parents. Senior Pastor — Weems Creek Baptist Church (WCBC) Annapolis

General expectations

  • The senior pastor should be ordained and licensed as a minister of the gospel by a Southern Baptist Church with previous experience as a senior pastor at a comparable congregation. It is also desirable for him to have completed a seminary education.
  • The senior pastor should agree doctrinally with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
  • The senior pastor “must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, sober-minded, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, [and] able to teach” (1 Timothy 3:2, ESV).
  • The senior pastor “must manage his own household well, keeping his children under control with all dignity” (1 Timothy 3:4, NASB).
  • The senior pastor, “as God’s steward, must be above reproach. He must not be arrogant or quick-tempered or a drunkard or violent or greedy for gain, but hospitable, a lover of good, self-controlled, upright, holy, and disciplined. He must hold firm to the trustworthy word as taught, so that he may be able to give instruction in sound doctrine and also to rebuke those who contradict it” (Titus 1:7-9, ESV).
  • The senior pastor “must not be a recent convert … he must be well thought of by outsiders” (1 Timothy 3:6-7, ESV).
  • The senior pastor should not be domineering over those entrusted to him but should be an example to the flock (1 Peter 5:3, ESV). However, he also should not be afraid to lead when hard truths are required.

Key responsibilities

  • Demonstrate a passion, ability, and willingness to share Christ and disciple others.
  • Show an obvious love for the fellowship of the local church.

  • Cooperate with local and state denominational leaders in matters of mutual interest and concern; monitor changes and developments within the Southern Baptist Convention and keep the church informed.
  • Clearly and consistently communicate with the pastoral staff, the chairman of deacons, and the chairman of the personnel committee regarding the time needed away from church responsibilities for vacation, family obligations, rest, and/or professional development. Work with the pastoral staff to ensure ministry responsibilities, including the pulpit, are covered.

WCBC worship style

We believe authentic worship is God-centered and life-transforming. It fuels the fire of devotion in the heart, facilitates constant renewal, and motivates believers to sacrificial service. Both corporate and individual worship is vital to spiritual health. We also believe genuine worship is a strong witness to unbelievers. Therefore, we give priority to planning and facilitating Spirit-led worship of the one true God.

WCBC is a multigenerational church. Our worship style is a progressive blend of modern worship songs and hymns. For example, on a given Sunday service may feature songs by Vertical Worship, Hillsong, Elevation, or Phil Wickham. However, we also include traditional hymns and other choruses that have stood the test of time. We work at being considerate of the entire congregation.

On Jan. 12, 2014, we dedicated a new worship center. It includes the latest in stage design elements and a state-of-the-art sound system, personal monitor system, LED stage lights, and graphic and video support. This center seats up to 400 people. Before COVID-19, the church ran 250 on a Sunday morning. We have just returned to the low 200s in weekly attendance with full programming for adults and children.

Full-Time Family MinisterCalvary Baptist Church (CBC), Bel Air

Principal Function
The family minister is responsible to edify the body, by encouraging and equipping parents to disciple their families, facilitating community development across generational lines, and leading the ministries for birth through high school at CBC, to the glory of God.

Specific duties
Development and implementation of ministries

  • Oversee, direct, and be involved in children’s ministries (birth through 5th grade) and youth ministry (middle and high school) by providing vision, organization, decision-making, curriculum, process development, and program development.

  • Provide a safe environment where participants and their families experience Bible-based learning experiences, witness and live in a way that represents the Christian faith and the love of Christ, whereby strong relationships will be naturally built between pastors, leaders, peers, and all membership.
  • Teach and model to participants how to follow the Great Commission, by utilizing their Christian values and knowledge to be strong witnesses to their peers and contacts outside of the church environment.
  • Serve on the Children and Student Partnerships representing families, students, and children.

Equipping and encouraging parents

  • Work with ministry leaders to develop coordinating curriculum across the age groups (children to adults) via Sunday School materials, Bible study courses, or other opportunities in order to enhance quality discussions during family devotional time.
  • Develop channels of resources that allow the parents to lead in their home in such a way that corporate unity is maintained.
  • Develop and implement ongoing parent training and encouragement to include, but not limited to, leading parents to study the Bible to help them understand their role and responsibilities.
  • Coach and counsel parents and children privately on specific issues in their family. Provide referrals to outside counseling resources as necessary.

Intergenerational connections

  • Encourage intergenerational gatherings to help the young and all generations to recognize how God is working in the whole family of God.
  • Work with the senior pastor and other ministry teams to ensure that there are opportunities for all generations to worship, learn and serve together.

Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or greater in family ministry or closely-related field.
  • At least three to five years of experience as a minister in a church, preferably with young people.

Discipleship
The associate pastor is responsible for providing leadership in discipleship training and education in consultation and cooperation with the senior pastor.

Specific duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Facilitate with the Finance Partnership the preparation of the annual church budget and stay informed of overall church finance and the operation of church ministries.

  • Actively serve as the ministerial liaison on the Finance Partnership.
  • Serve as the purchasing agent with all vendors for the church in consultation with appropriate partnership and primary staff liaison.
  • Oversee the church’s financial operations ensuring that they are within our financial policy, our church system of checks and balances, and the financial record system of the church.
  • Consult with Church Council members and partnership chairs to ensure budget expenditures and expense reimbursements are processed appropriately, monitoring budgetary spending and informing the appropriate personnel of needed adjustments.
  • Supervise and direct the weekday operation of the church office and secretarial staff as assigned. Periodically review the wage, salary structures, personnel practices, and benefits of non-ministerial staff to make recommendations to the Personnel Partnership.
  • Oversee church expansion by working with ministry leaders, church staff, and outside experts on projecting and evaluating the need for additional church space.

  • Support and encourage parents, who are primarily responsible for teaching biblical truths to their children (Ephesians 6:4), in order for them to attend service.
  • Make the whole counsel of Scripture known to children with a special emphasis on the Gospel (Deuteronomy 6:6-9, Romans 1:16-17).
  • Pray for the children and rely on the Holy Spirit to regenerate their hearts through the faithful teaching of His Word (Romans 10:17, Ephesians 2:4-10).
  • Live faithfully before the children and model for them how Christians are called to respond to God and interact with others (Matthew 5:161 Cor. 11:1).

On a weekly basis, the Children’s Ministry Coordinator will:

  • Schedule and train teachers and volunteers for children’s ministry and “Praise Factory.”
  • Understand and implement children’s ministry curriculum by training and supporting volunteers.
  • Manage day-to-day efforts of the children’s ministry team (volunteers, deacons, teachers, and others).

  • Experience in implementing new or existing curriculum.

  • Maintain a vibrant personal walk with the Lord Jesus through prayer, Bible reading, and study, encouraging the congregation in their individual relationships with the Lord.

Resources are available for use by the worship leader such as, a piano, multi-channel audio system, flat-screen televisions at the front and rear of the sanctuary, and components that can be used to play .mp3 files, CDs, or DVDs. In addition, the church has a CCLI license granting permission for the use of thousands of contemporary songs from hundreds of Christian artists. The church also pays for an online streaming license.

Salary: Negotiable based on duties, experience, and skill level, but not to exceed $300/week.

Paid vacation: The worship leader will have two weeks of paid vacation and may be absent for a total of four weeks per year, including vacation. Social Media Coordinator The Baptist Convention of Maryland/Delaware (BCM/D) is looking for a reliable, qualified, and experienced social media coordinator.

Primary responsibilities

  • Develops brand awareness by assisting in the development of a strong content strategy
  • Builds and maintains the brand’s social media profiles and presence
  • Partners with the staff to develop and execute both planned and real-time content
  • Executes strategy to grow and engage audiences and followers
  • Stays current with trends and assesses industry best practices
  • Possesses experience in creating and managing paid social campaigns 
  • Oversees/analyzes metrics and make recommendations for improvement based on performance data

Knowledge and skill requirements

Senior PastorFirst Baptist Church of Perryville in Maryland seeks a full-time senior pastor serving as principal elder in an elder-led, missions-minded, Southern Baptist-affiliated church. The senior pastor will be first among equals on the elder board and have principal oversight responsibility for the ministry of the church. The position is available immediately, and the salary is commensurate with education, experience, and local norms.

Position requirements

  • Qualifications for an elder according to the biblical standards in 1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9, and 1 Peter 5:1-4
  • Strong ability in teaching sound doctrine, especially in expository preaching
  • Full agreement with the doctrinal statements made in the Baptist Faith and Message (2000) and the church’s constitution and by-laws
  • Servant leadership with a shepherd’s heart to care for and feed the flock entrusted to his care
  • Missions-minded, as the church conducts missions activities in our state and around the world

Duties

  • Lead the church to understand, embrace, and accomplish its biblical mission to make disciples both locally and globally through engaging Christ-followers in worship, community, and ministry
  • Organize, oversee, and/or conduct the gathered services of the church, which include worship, prayer meetings, weddings, funerals, and other services that may need to occur from time to time
  • Provide Bible-based counseling to members in need
  • Oversee, along with elders, all church discipline matters and conflict issues in the church
  • Supervise paid church staff, including tasks and evaluations

Qualifications

  • Preferred Education: Masters of Divinity or higher from a conservative seminary
  • Experience: Five or more years of pastoral experience in the local church
  • Worship Style: Comfortable with both contemporary and traditional styles of worship music
