Same-sex marriage, which Maryland Governor Bob O’Malley endorsed and Maryland’s House of Delegates and Senate passed, if left unchallenged, will take effect Jan. 1, 2013.

In opposition, the Maryland Marriage Alliance filed a petition with the Md Board of Elections on Feb. 24 to be the official proponents of a referendum campaign against the same-sex marriage legislation. Its website is the official site to obtain petitions for the referendum.

There is a short window of time to collect no less that 60,000 (100,000+ is preferable) signatures for petition against the same-sex marriage law.

If petition is accepted, then the Same-Sex Marriage law will go to the voting polls for each Maryland citizen to vote on it in November’s elections.Sign the Petition at
