This week SBDR volunteers are calling Minot, ND “The place where the Lord provides.”

Set up on the north hill in the city of Minot, the Incident Command team had shopping list in hand: water tank, pressure washer, squeegees, shovels, wheel barrow and more. The items are needed to make it possible for teams to fly into the city in need and have the equipment that is required to help homeowners mud-out their flooded homes.  Photo left: Incident Commander Jack Shelby (state DR director for IL) greets the Sullivan, IL Mud-out team upon their arrival in Minot, ND. The team had to overcome a broken spring on their trailer in order to assist homeowners with the hard work of cleaning out their homes.

The next day the team needed a trailer in order to provide teams working on flooded houses with a tank of water needed for pressure washing the building once it has been cleared of debris and the damaged building materials have been removed. Again, the Lord provided and a trailer was made available for use by SBDR teams.

When a forklift sank into the rain soaked ground the incident command team members were forced to delay their shopping trip and work to release the trapped piece of equipment. It was while they were working with the forklift that God's provision walked into their midst.  Full Article
