Training class begins on Friday, 5:00 pm - 9:00pm and resumes on Saturday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

This course is designed to introduce participants to the fundamental dynamics, concepts, skills and demands necessary for providing intentional spiritual care in a disaster relief or local crisis situation.
Due to the sensitive nature of this ministry, registration is open to pastors, retired pastors, chaplains, counselors, church staff and lay leaders.
You must have taken Intro to Disaster before taking this class.
The Disaster Relief Crisis Care Responders extend the witness and care of the church into a very specialized time of ministry in the lives of people disrupted unexpectedly by a disaster. For this reason, the training requirements for the Crisis Care team are high. All Crisis Care volunteers must meet these standards:
- Complete "Involving Southern Baptist in Disaster Relief"
- Complete "Southern Baptist Disaster Relief Basic Course"
- Complete one unit of training in either Critical Incident Stress Management CISM-about 16 hrs or National Organization for Victim Assistance NOVA-about 40 hrs.
Optional overnight housing is available on site at the church (showers and continental breakfast provided) Bring sleeping bag, towel and personal toiletries.
