Prequisite: For teacher, parents, leaders and other volunteers involved in children's ministry in church.

Event Summary:

  • Presenter: Cindy Lumpkin, LifeWay Christian Resources

Cindy Lumpkin has been at LifeWay Christian Resources for 17 years where she is currently is a product development specialist for products for birth through 12th grades. She recently was a contributing author for Super Duper Fun and Exciting Absolutely Thought Igniting Bible Activities for Kids. She has been an editorial project leader for ministry and leadership resources in the Childhood Ministry Publishing area. Her projects included Kid’s Ministry 101, Levels of Biblical Learning resources, and in mINistry with kids, Toward 2000: Leading Preschoolers in Sunday School and Preschool Sunday School for a New Century Love, Laughter, and Learning, Teaching Preschoolers: First Steps Toward Faith; Just Like Jesus, News and Views, Bible Foundations, and E-Anytime Anywhere.

  • Preschoolers as They Grow.....................Presenter: Keith Benning............From birth to kindergarten, steps to a successful ministry

  • Ministering to Media-Minded Kids..........Presenter: Shannon Baker..........No, you don't have to turn your Children's Ministry into a video arcade to get children's attention. But there are some ways you CAN use media effectively to help them learn and live out The Greatest Story Ever Told.

  • Creating a safe haven for children.............Presenter: Kim Cook.................Building on the theme, "Who am I?" we quickly come to the realization that children are uniquely made. Churches need to consider how to best protect and nurture their youngest members, considering their unique needs and vulnerabilities. Churches should be a safe haven for children and their families. A quick look at the media tells us that this is not always true. This workshop will give you many practical tips and reminders about church safety policies. We will talk about everything from preventing abuse to dealing with allergies. You will walk away with handouts, web resources, and discussion points to take back to your church with the goal of improving what you already have in place.

Looking for ways to connect the stories and lessons learned at church and infuse them in your home and communities? Come and participate in an interactive Total Body Workshop with ideas and strategies for connecting your family, your church, your home and your community.

  • Different Like Me....................................Presenter: Pam Jensen............Overview of the different types of special needs a Sunday School teracher may encounter and some strategies in addressing them. The focus will be on including special needs children in a "traditional" class.

  • Mission-Minded Child..............................Presenter: Jerry Kirkland..........Now that I am yours, what can I do? Things that children can do to live out their faith.

  • Gospel Project.....................................Presenter: Cindy Lumpkin.........Three-year scope and sequence that puts biblical chronology into big-picture understanding of the gospel like kids hav enver seen. Connects all Bible content to Christ. Three age groups: preschool, younger kids, older kids.

  • Disciple, You got be one to make one!......Presenter: Paul Marshall.........."Raise up a child in the way they shall go," it's more then a hope and a prayer, it's INTENTIONAL DISCIPLESHIP. A child, a family and the Church communnity intentionally building foundations, developing skills and practically living out Faith in Christ.             Session 1--Preschool; Sessions 2 & 3--Age-Graded Children.

     

  • Connect with Me - PLEASE!!!!!..............Presenter: Connie Zinn............Ever wonder how to reach out to 1st-5th graders? Children are starving for connection with adults who love them. The Bible has made it clear we are to teach our children and how can we teach if we don’t connect? We will be using the 5 love languages and other techniques to reach out to this generation. If we as a Church don’t reach out, who will?                     Sessions 1 & 2 ONLY
